Welcome to the website of the District Grand Council of Sussex of the Order of the Allied Masonic Degrees.
Allied Masonry has existed in Sussex since the consecration of the Grafton Council in 1897. Still, the District of Sussex is rather newer, having been constituted on 13th February 2007 following the partitioning of a much larger District.
There are now nineteen Districts in England & Wales operating under the authority of the Grand Council, with Sussex being the youngest. Being a new District, we are very enthusiastic and all meetings are well attended with a high standard of ritual enjoyed.
Seven Councils in the District meet at Brighton, Eastbourne, Uckfield, Chichester, Worthing, East Grinstead and Peacehaven.
To join us in this most interesting Order you must be a Royal Arch Mason and a Mark Master Mason as the five degrees worked will add to your knowledge of both. As in all Masonic Orders, there are useful lessons to be learned from all of the degrees, three of which are fairly short and it is not unusual to take two or sometimes three during one meeting.
Please take a little time to read some of the history of the Order, the summaries of the five degrees and the information on the Councils in your area.
I look forward to welcoming you into one of our councils very shortly.
