Sussex was well represented at the Grand Council of the Allied Masonic Degrees at Freemasons Halls, Great Queen Street, on Tuesday 28th October.
The Grand Master, M.W.Bro. Thomas Firth Jackson was escort into and out of Grand Council between two Sussex Brethren, W.Bro. Ivor Bennett, (Dep.Dist.G.Pref. of Sussex) acting as Grand Sword Bearer and W.Bro. Bernard Marchant, Grand Standard Bearer.
During the investiture, the Grand Master was pleased to confer a first appointment of Past Assistant Grand Director of Ceremonies on W.Bro. Geoff Downs and Past Grand Standard Bearer on W.Bro. Chris Moore. W.Bro. Greg Shackleton and W.Bro. Charlie Sharrod received a tariff promotion to Past Grand Junior Deacon.
At the pre-dinner drinks reception, R.W.Bro. Gene Earland, District Grand Prefect was joined by two Past District Grand Prefects namely R.W.Bro. Roger Richardson and R.W.Bro. Martin Wilson.
A delightful festive board was enjoyed by all in the Grand Connaught Rooms before retiring to The George for a nightcap.
